Open Arms Children’s Center in Lagoinha Village
“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
In this season of Thanksgiving, we are so thankful for all of our partners in ministry. You all are helping bring hope, and changing the horizon of children’s lives every day, children like those in the Terena village of Lagoinha (little lake).
In January 2018, with a team from Derwood Bible Church, we broke ground on the Open Arms Children’s Center in Lagoinha. 
The center will house classrooms, a small library, kitchen, and a large covered veranda for activities. That first team completed the foundation, sub-floor, the septic system, and the walls. Subsequent local teams completed the roof and windows on the main building.
In early November, thanks to gifts from generous donors, a team from our missions in Assis and Florestopolis, Brazil made the 10 hour drive to work alongside other Open Arms volunteers in Lagoinha Village to complete the work. We are all looking forward to seeing the children enjoy their new place!
