Open Arms 5K 2014 is in the books!
The Great Mud Run of 2014
On Saturday April 5th runners, joggers, and walkers of all ages joined together at Claude Moore Park for the 2nd running of the Open Arms 5K. This year’s theme turned out to be MUD! There was slipping, there was sliding, there were sneakers left behind in the goop. There were no speed records set but there were lots of laughs, lots of friends and family and all for a good cause. The proceeds of this year’s event went to our fund set aside for local missions in Sterling Park, VA.
On behalf of the Board of Open Arms, the many volunteers and children here and in Brazil, I want to say thank you to everyone who participated. We’d like to thank our co-hosts Sterling Park Baptist Church and our sponsors at INOVA and Road Runner Sports for their assistance and support. Most of all I want to thank God for the opportunities we have to be the open arms of Jesus to children who so need the good news.
