That the World Will Know
On the Palm Sunday, a team of 50 Americans and another 100 or so Brazilian’s gathered to worship after a day of service projects and gospel presentations. Together we spent time considering how we could be an answer to Jesus’ prayer in John 17. We explored how Jesus’ prayer for unity included the petition, “May they be one”, the power, “I have given them the glory you gave me”, and the purpose, “that the world will know that you sent me.”
I believe with all of my heart that they were able to be an answer to that prayer. In three different neighborhoods and two cities, this team of Brazilians and Americans presented the gospel, shared testimonies, painted, planted, built, raked, trimmed, acted, sang, smiled, and hugged in unity so that it was clear to all that Jesus was there.
“Behold I am making all things new” – Jesus (Revelation 21:5)
Our theme for the week was “Jesus makes all things new.” This team took Jesus into every environment they encountered and provided the children, their teachers, and families a small taste of the transformative power of the gospel in action.
This is the heartbeat of Open Arms Worldwide. Jesus said, “And whoever welcomes one such child in my name, welcomes me.” If you haven’t joined us yet, don’t lose anymore time!
