2021 – An Amazing Year of Blessing

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!” – Psalm 107:1

It is hard to believe that 2021 is coming to a close. We started the year with a lot of uncertainty. Our team in Brazil was unable to gather the children together in groups, so our ministry shifted. Door to door, one child, one family at a time. We brought food, we brought prayer, we brought the hope of the gospel. New partnerships were formed and new doors for ministry were opened.

As things began to reopen, we found that more children than ever were coming to our weekend Bible clubs, weekday bible studies, and sports ministry. Out of a time of trial came new life and a fresh start. Through it all, God has been faithful, and so have you. Your generosity and your prayers carried us through the most trying two years we have experienced as a mission. For that we are forever grateful.

We have big plans for 2022 and the years beyond. Plans to expand our reach in places like the Brazilian Pantanal, São Paulo, and the Amazon. Plans to move beyond Brazil and take the Open Arms’ vision and model to other countries as the Lord opens doors.

Your partnership allows us to dream big as we continue the work of bringing gospel hope to children and youth, and participate in the miracle of changed lives. On behalf of the children and youth, and the missionaries of Open Arms, thank you!

TAX DEDUCTIONS UNDER THE CARES ACT
The CARES Act for this year only has increased limits on deductions for giving:
–  For those who itemize, they can deduct up to 100% of their AGI (normally 60%) and eliminate Federal tax (not State)
–  For those who take the standard deduction, they can claim an extra $300 for charitable giving
–  The taxable income limit that applies to cash contributions made by corporations to nonprofits is increased from 10% to 25%
